ExhibitionSince 1924 the German writers Lisa Tetzner and Kurt Kläber (whose pseudonym was Kurt Held) had spent their summers in the Ticinese village of Carona, which they chose as exile residence in 1933 and as their new homeland, in 1948, when they gained the citizenship. Thanks to their hospitality and openness, Carona became a popular meeting point for artists, such as H. Hesse and R. Wenger, B. Brecht, J.R. Becher, C. Hofer and I. Silone. In 1954 the couple had Casa Pantrovà built, designed as a home for artists, which still is today. The exhibition gives special emphasis on the changeable relationship between the artists and Hermann Hesse. In collaboration with the Associazione Casa Pantrovà in Carona, (www.pantrova.ch).
