Ulrike Schlack (right), Japan expert, Dr. Kousuke Niibe and Ms. Tsunoda visiting the Museum on June 2, 2018. Dr. Niibe, together with Prof. Asao Okada, is responsible for the distribution of Hesse's works in Japan. The two scientists, with the support of Mr. Tsunoda, have designed the exhibition "Hermann Hesse and the Butterflies", which has been exhibited in more than 40 locations in Japan and other countries.

In the occasion of the exhibition "Eyes on Kazakhstan" promoted by the city of Lugano, the internationally renowned Kazakh director Darezhan Omirbaev visited the Museum Hermann Hesse. Hermann Hesse is among his favourite writers and had a great relevance in his personal and artstic development.

Patti Smith remains faithful to the Hermann Hesse Museum: in March she was guest at the Museum with an exhibition of her photos and on April 1 she performed on the stage of the Sala Boccadoro together with Lenny Kaye (guitar) and Tony Shanahan (piano, guitar). She gave an unforgettable evening to an enthusiastic audience. She read texts by Hermann Hesse and extracts from her latest book Just Kids and sang her most beautiful songs, among which Because the night and People have the power.

Karlheinz Böhm, Austrian actor and founder of the humanitarian agency Menschen für Menschen visited the Hermann Hesse Museum on April 28.
Karlheinz Böhm is best known for his role as young Emperor Franz Josef in the trilogy films  "Sissi" in which he co-starred with Romy Schneider. Throughout his career he played in more than 45 movies.
On this occasion some shootings for a film by Giusi Boni for the Swiss Italian television TSI were taken. Karlheinz Böhm personaly knew Hermann Hesse and has been admiring him since then.

Manfred Dunst, mayor of Calw.
On July 18 and 19 a delegation from Calw, Hermann Hesse's birthplace, visited Collina d'Oro, in order to prepare the twinning between the two municipalities. Besides the workshops, the delegation also visited the Museum and took a boat trip around Lake Lugano.
5-6 August 2007

On August 5 and 6 the German rock-star Udo Lindenberg visited with great interest the Museum. On Sunday he took part of the Reading at the Cemetery of S. Abbondio and afterwards he was shown the Museum and Hesse's apartment in the Casa Camuzzi. On Monday he took the walking-tour „Following the trails of Hermann Hesse" in the Collina d'Oro and in Carona. Among his companions, there were Jürgen Teufel and Jürgen Sautter of Sparkasse Pforzheim/Calw.
